The main building and most of the university departments are located on Vasilevsky Island, just a few minutes walk from the city centre and Nevsky Prospekt and is easily accessed by public transport. You will find cafés, restaurants and shopping facilities around the metro station close to the university. Internet cafés can be found around the university and in the city centre. The language school, which is mainly focussed on individual tuition, is located in the centre of St Petersburg. It is well equipped and can among things offer access to computers. The school is moreover known for its friendly service.
Studying here provides you with a wonderful opportunity to see one of the most beautiful cities of the world and the cultural centre of Russia. There are over 170 museums in the city, one of which is the world-famous Hermitage. Its collection amounts to over 3 million items and the total length of its halls and galleries is 19 km. The exhibit at the Russian museum gives an overview of over a thousand years of Russian art, from the 11th century to the present day. The museum's collection of icons and painting is one of the best in the world and its collection of Russian sculpture encompasses all its tendencies. The university/language school can organise guided tours of the Hermitage, the Russian Museum, Peter and Paul Fortress and St Isaac's Cathedral for you.
